A.R.T.'S PAULUS PRESENTS WORKSHOP AT THE PUBLIC THEATER
American Repertory Theater Artistic Director Diane Paulus presented a workshop reading at The Public Theater of the A.R.T.'s upcoming gospel musical by Deirdre Murray and Randy Weiner, "Best of Both Worlds". The rousing score of the musical (based on Shakespeare's "The Winter's Tale") starring David Alan Grier had the audience of supporters, board members, and producers practically dancing in the aisles.
Following the performance, a party was held in Ms. Paulus's honor at The Box, also attended by newly appointed NEA Chairman Rocco Landesman, Wall Street Journal Culture Editor Christopher Farley, CNBC television journalist Sharon Epperson, Theatermania head Darren Sussman, Dessie Moynihan of the Shubert Organization, and Lori E. Gross, Harvard University's Associate Provost for the Arts, as well as the cast of "Best of Both Worlds."
